The music of Under the Radar (UtR) is probably best described as “Americana” (or in other words “a wide range of American musical styles”). Much of the band’s material is drawn from Kevin Russell's fantastic solo recordings, and is a mix of original songs and unique interpretations of familiar classics (from Beatles to Ray Charles, from blues to bluegrass). With musical friendships going back 25 years (!), UtR’s relaxed approach allows for plenty of spontaneity and lots of improvisation along the way. Based in Sonoma County, California, these guys are all about having fun making music they love.
